Leaving a gift in your Will is a very special way of supporting Torbay and South Devon NHS Charity.

Nothing is more important than our health, and the health of the people we love. We can never predict when we’ll need to rely on our local NHS, but we can all play a part in making sure it’s the very best it can be.

Some people choose to leave a gift in their will to say ‘thank you’ for the care that they’ve received from our amazing people. For others, it’s simply a way to ensure that their friends, family and loved ones will have access to the best possible healthcare and experience as a patient or a carer, should the time come for them to need it.

Whatever your reason for supporting our charity, by including a gift in your Will, you’ll be making a difference to local peoples’ lives when they need it most. From tiny babies in our special baby care unit to people needing end of life support, from people living with cancer to young adult carers – a gift in your Will could make life better for people across Torbay and South Devon.

Including Torbay and South Devon NHS Charity in your Will costs you nothing now, and it’s easier than you might think.

Thank you so much for supporting local people in this way.

How to leave a gift in your Will

Leaving a gift in your Will is simple – whether you’re drawing up a new Will or amending an existing one. We always recommend that you speak to a solicitor when making any changes to your Will, as this will give you peace of mind that your Will wording is correct and your wishes will be followed.

There are two main types of legacy gift:

  1. A residuary gift, meaning you leave a percentage of your estate to the beneficiary.
  2. A pecuniary gift, meaning you leave a specific sum to the beneficiary.

What areas might my gift support?

You can choose for your gift to be used where the need is greatest within our services or to support a particular location, department or ward. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you and give you advice on how best to word your Will.
