Thank you for making Christmas brighter

This Christmas, we want to make sure every patient spending Christmas Day in hospital Thanks to your kindness, we were able to bring Christmas joy to people who needed it most.

Because of your generous support, over 500 patients spending Christmas Day in hospital received a gift. A small but heartfelt reminder that they were not alone. Whether they were waking up on a ward far from home, recovering from illness, or facing a difficult time, your donations helped spark moments of joy throughout the day.

Your kindness also reached the incredible people who keep our NHS running. More than 1,100 staff members from 65 different teams were working on Christmas Day, caring for patients, supporting families, and keeping essential services going while many of us celebrated at home. Thanks to you, each of them received a token of appreciation, a gesture to show just how valued they are by the community they serve.

Together, you helped us say a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, doctors, porters, healthcare assistants, midwives, cleaners, therapists, catering teams, security staff, and so many others who gave their Christmas to care for others.

Your generosity helped fill our hospitals with kindness and community spirit.
From everyone at Torbay and South Devon NHS Charity, thank you for helping make Christmas special for every patient, and for celebrating our NHS teams.
