Here are just a few ways your support made a difference in 2024-25:
Louisa Cary Ward

Staff on Louisa Cary ward were delighted to welcome donors and supporters onto the ward for a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday 6 March to unveil a new look for areas supporting Torbay Hospital’s youngest patients, including Louisa Cary ward, the paediatric high dependency unit and older children’s area. These areas have been transformed into bright, welcoming spaces with new seaside themed wall coverings, marking the completion of the first phase of a project to update areas of the hospital supporting children and young adults.
Led by Torbay and South Devon NHS Charity, this major initiative aims to create a more comforting and child-friendly environment for young patients and their families.
Funding of £10,000 from the charity, made the transformation of some of the hospital’s key areas supporting children and young adults possible. These areas providing acute care are now vibrant, cheerful, and welcoming, helping to ease children’s anxiety as they begin their hospital journey.
Torbay and South Devon NHS Charity is the NHS charity making things better for our local hospitals and for our community. Funding the big and little things that make a difference to our patients, their families and the staff that treat them.
